Hello there! 

My name is Joseph Philipson, and I am the founder of the Philipson Foundation. I started this nonprofit because while traveling and living on public lands for the past five years, I learned that the conversations about climate change were omitted from public discourse by design.

As someone who has always been passionate about preserving our planet, I felt compelled to do something about it. That's why I decided to start the Philipson Foundation, a nonprofit that empowers artists to tell stories about the preservation of our public lands and institutions.

At the foundation, we feel that educating the community to love our lands is the best way to foster a feeling of stewardship and preservation. That's why we provide financial grants, foster collaborations, and create opportunities for artists to engage with the natural world and raise awareness about the importance of conserving our shared environment.
We also offer a way for individuals or companies to donate to help preserve public lands. Your support will help us continue our mission to inspire environmental stewardship through the transformative power of art.

In my free time, you can find me working as a documentary photographer, learning a new skill or craft, and trying to live my best life. It's essential to have a balanced life, and pursuing my passions outside of the foundation keeps me motivated to continue our work.
