Nate Gowdy is a Seattle-based photographer who has documented American politics for over a decade. He began his career as a staff photographer at Seattle Gay News, covering the city's queer and trans communities. He also served as the official photographer for the Seattle Pride Parade and documented the fight for marriage equality in Washington state.

Over the years, Gowdy has covered numerous political events and protests across 25 states and Washington, DC. His work is featured in publications like TIME magazine, Rolling Stone, and Mother Jones. In 2022, he self-published his first monograph, INSURRECTION, which chronicles the attack on the US Capitol with timestamped images and contextual captions.

Gowdy is an Indiana University journalism graduate, former newspaper editor, preschool caregiver, and community outreach worker. He also spearheaded The American Superhero Project, a collaborative portrait and storytelling series. Gowdy's fine art is represented at Monroe Gallery of Photography in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
